Welcome to the Puppy Learning Center — we're so glad you and your new puppy found us! The weeks right after bringing a puppy home are among the most important of their life, and getting started with proper socialization and foundational training early makes all the difference. We keep our classes intentionally small — a maximum of 3 dogs per session — so every puppy and every owner gets the personalized attention and guidance they deserve.
Why Start Early?
Science and experience both agree: the time to shape your puppy's future is right now. Here's why early training and socialization are so critical:
- The socialization window closes fast. Between 8 and 16 weeks of age, your puppy's brain is primed to absorb new experiences, environments, and social interactions. What they learn and encounter during this period shapes their confidence and resilience for life.
- Confidence built early lasts a lifetime. Puppies who are thoughtfully exposed to the world during this window grow into calmer, more adaptable adult dogs with significantly less fear and anxiety.
- Clear communication prevents frustration. Training establishes a shared language between you and your dog — one built on trust, consistency, and mutual understanding. That bond pays dividends every single day.
- Prevention is far easier than correction. Many of the most common behavioral problems in adult dogs — jumping, leash pulling, resource guarding, reactivity — are preventable when addressed early with the right guidance.

What to expect in class
We want you to walk in feeling prepared and confident — here's a quick overview of how our classes are structured:
- 60 minutes per session, keeping things engaging without overwhelming young pups or their owners.
- Distraction-controlled indoor environment — our training space is specifically designed to minimize overstimulation so your puppy can focus and succeed.
- You train your dog. Our trainer coaches you — hands-on guidance when needed, but you stay in the driver’s seat. You build the relationship; we give you the tools and real-time feedback to do it confidently.
- Positive reinforcement only. We use reward-based methods exclusively. No punishment, no corrections, no intimidation — ever. Just clear communication and lots of well-timed rewards.
- Q&A time at the close of every session — bring your questions, your wins, and your "why does my puppy do this?" moments. We love all of it.
